Repeat Winners Highlight Record Queen Bee Field
The winners of the inaugural Queen Bee Half and 4 Miler from 2014 made it two in a row today as both Katie Lenahan and Allison Echler repeated as champions of their respective events.
Lenahan, who also was the winner of last month’s Hudepohl 14K, repeated as the Queen Bee Half Marathon winner in a time of 1:25:13. Second was Neola Putnam in 1:26:53 and third was Lindsey Stanek in 1:27:40.
In the 4 Miler, Echler won in a time of 25:54. Second was Brooklyne Ridder in 26:41 and third was Claire Dwyer in 27:25.
A record capacity field of 4,903 registered for the Queen Bee Half Marathon and 4 Miler empowered by Kroger and P&G, with 3,344 in the half marathon and 1,558 in the 4 Miler.
The Queen Bee is part of the Flying Pig Marathon series of events, including Flying Pig weekend powered by P&G and the Christian Moerlein Beer Series, including the Bockfest 5K, the Little Kings Mile and the Hudepohl 14K and 7K.
The 2016 Queen Bee Half Marathon and 4 Miler empowered by Kroger and P&G will be held Saturday, October 8.
