The 2017 Queen Bee Half Marathon has a new ruler, as 19-year-old Hannah Moland of Lakeville, MN, takes the crown in a time of 1:30:16 at the fourth annual running of the Queen Been Half Marathon and 4-Miler Empowered by Kroger and P&G on Saturday, October 7.
Second in the half marathon was 33-year-old Natalie Leverone of Covington, KY, in 1:32:00 and third was 35-year-old Laurah Lukin of Cincinnati in 1:32:14.
In the past three years of the Queen Bee, the half marathon has been won by Katie Lenahan, who switched events to the 4-Miler and came in third in a time of 24:36.
In the 4-Miler, 22-year-old Kate Elson of Cincinnati won in a time of 24:16 and second was 31-year-old Jennifer Spieldenner of Findlay, OH.
Another near-capacity field of almost 6,000 runners and walkers took part in the fourth-annual event, benefiting several female-centric charities in the area. Honorary starters this year were members of Team Fiona from the Cincinnati Zoo who were the primary caregivers for the prematurely-born hippo.
