Half Marathon

The Queen Bee Half Marathon will be offered as an in-person and virtual event this fall.

Packet Pick-up

At this time, all virtual Queen Bee participants can expect to receive their items via mail in November. Please note: international participants may experience additional mailing delays due to customs. 

Packet and premium pickup for in-person participants will be at the P&G Health and Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday. There, you’ll be able to purchase Queen Bee merchandise, visit our vendors, and treat yourself to a little pampering before the event. You’ll feel “Bee-U-Tiful!”

**Masks are required to attend the P&G Health and Fitness Expo.**

We will NOT have registration available on-site before the race.

Can’t make it to the Bee-U-Tique? Someone may pick another participant’s packet by filling out the Packet Pick-up Authorization form.

Course Map

The half marathon starts with the full marathon and relay field and goes through Cincinnati, Newport, and Covington. The two groups will run together for approximately nine miles, then the half marathon field will turn back toward downtown and end at the Marathon finish line.

Participant tracking will be available through the Official Pig Works Events app.

“PIG PEN” Corral Starting Line

Based upon runner feedback and will a goal to improve the race day experience for all participants, the Flying Pig has instituted corrals, or “Pig Pens” for the 10K.  Corral assignments will be based on the expected finish time and will be included on your bib*.

Please allow extra time to find and position yourself in the correct Pig Pen.  Late arriving participants will not be guaranteed placement in their correct Pig Pen.

  • If you need to change your assigned corral, please visit the “Corral Assignment” booth near the registration area at the P&G Health and Fitness Expo on Friday or on-site on Saturday morning before the race.

Baggage Check

Gear Check/Baggage Claim is available for participants near the start line. Gear check buses, provided by First Student Charter Bus Rental, will be located on the East Plaza of Paul Brown Stadium near the intersection of West Pete Rose Way and Elm Street on Sunday.

Place all of your items in the clear bag provided at the Expo (extras will be available on-site).  A tear tag is included on your bib and will be used as a means of bag identification.  Attach the tear tag prior to dropping the bag off at the bus.  Buses are arranged in numerical order according to bib numbers.

Allow plenty of time to get to the Start Line in order to check your bag and position yourself in your assigned corral. You can claim your bag after the race just outside the exit to the race recovery area.   Show your bib to the volunteers at your assigned bus to claim your bag.

“PIG PEN” Start Corrals

Corral assignments will be determined based on your expected finish time specified in your registration.  If registered before April 17, your assignment will be included on your bib. Please note: if you registered after April 17, you will need to visit the Corral Assignment booth at the P&G Health and Fitness Expo to receive your assignment. Corrals A-D will be located on Elm Street and E-I will be on Mehring Way. The color and letter scheme will be reflected in the corresponding signage indicating each Pig Pen’s entrance. Entrances will be accessed at the rear of each corral by using the sidewalks on either side of the street, which will only be open to participants. Pig Pen entrances will be monitored and correct placement will be enforced. Portable restrooms will be located in each corral near the back. Baggage buses and a large group of portable restrooms will be located on the Plaza level of Paul Brown Stadium. Please review the Start Line Map for the full setup. On race day, participants will not be able to move forward to another corral. However, they will be permitted to move backward if they feel that is a better option for them or would like to start with another participant. If a participant would like to move up a corral because they think their estimated finish time will be better, please visit the Pig Pen/Corral Assignment booth at the Expo during packet pick-up.  Late arriving participants will not be guaranteed placement of their correct Pig Pen.

Pace Chart

The course will close at a continuous pace of 18:00 minutes per mile (Pace Chart). Anyone who cannot maintain the 18:00 minute per mile pace must move to the sidewalk as the course closes to allow regular traffic through. Participant services cannot be guaranteed for participants beyond the 18:00 minute per mile pace.

Thanks to our official Queen Bee Half Marathon pacers, you will be delivered to the finish line right at your goal time!

Participant Amenities

All registered participants will receive a long-sleeve technical ASICS shirt, finisher medal, premium bag, and more! Finisher’s certificates will be available to download after the race. Stay tuned for additional details!


Overall prizes will be awarded to the top three women, determined by gun time.

Age group prizes will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories for women:

  • 14-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+

Age group award times will be determined by chip time.  Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.

Age group winners will be notified by email with instructions on how to redeem their award.
